Hey mama (or papa!)
Setting up a nursery? It can be as simple or as extra as you want — seriously. Whether you're working with hand-me-downs or buying everything new, your baby just needs safe, cozy vibes (and nappies… lots of nappies).
The Essentials
You’ll want these basics no matter what:
- Cot or bassinet – A bassinet’s great early on. Hand-me-down? Perfect — just check it’s still safe.
- Mattress + protectors – Always go new for hygiene/safety.
- Change table or mat – A dresser + change mat totally works.
- Baby monitor – Audio or video, depends on your budget.
- Clothing (0–3 months) – Onesies, singlets, socks. Don’t overbuy — they grow so fast!
- Storage baskets – For nappies, wipes, and baby bits.
Budget tip: Ask for hand-me-downs. People love passing on baby gear!
If You’ve Got Room to Splurge…
Not essential, but so nice to have:
- Feeding chair – That il Tutto glider? Heaven at 2AM, but optional.
- Room thermometer or humidifier
- Sealed nappy bin – Keeps smells in, but a normal bin works too.
- Decor – Wall prints, rug, nightlight—go wild or keep it chill.
You really don’t need everything before baby arrives. Start with the basics, then add as you go. Your nursery doesn’t need to be Pinterest-perfect — just safe, calm, and full of love 💛
You’ve got this!
